The main entrance to Fenton City Park is from Larkin-Williams Road just south of its intersection with Yarnell Road. The Fenton City Park Trailhead is located near the new Hero’s Memorial. Water and restrooms are available in City Park. The Meramec Greenway Trail in this segment passes through the Fenton Meramec Greenway Park and Fenton City Park.

From the trailhead the Meramec Greenway Trail may be followed south through City Park and into the Fenton Meramec Greenway Park. It crosses Larkin – Williams Road and parallels the Meramec River to and beneath Highway 30, ending in Fenton Olde Towne. From the trailhead the Meramec Greenway Trail may also be followed north through City Park, then crosses Larkin-Williams Road into Riverside Park. The trail continues along Riverside Drive as a share the road to the intersection with Yarnell Road. Here the Meramec Greenway Trail crosses to the east side of Yarnell and parallels the Meramec north to and beneath Interstate 44.

At Interstate 44 this trail segment links directly to the Unger Park Segment and may be followed north to the Unger Park Trailhead. The distance between the Fenton City Park Trailhead and the Unger Park Trailhead is 2.5 miles.

Most of the trail through the Fenton Meramec Greenway is in an urban setting with active recreational opportunities such as soccer, tennis, volleyball and basketball close by.
